Day 1: Arrive Paro

Flight to Paro is one of the most spectacular flights as you can see beautiful views of Himalayan mountain ranges. You will be received by Dragon Trekkers & Tours representative. Transfer to a hotel.

Day 2: Paro sightseeing-Thimphu

After breakfast visit Ta Dzong (National Museum), Rinpung Dzong, Drukgyel Dzong and Kyichu Lhakhang. After Lunch drive to Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan. Overnight at hotel in Thimphu.

Day 3: Thimphu

Full day sightseeing in Thimphu and visit to the National Library, Tashichhodzong, Memorial Chorten, the Institute of Zorig Chusum (thirteen traditional arts and crafts) and handicrafts. Overnight at hotel in Thimphu.

Day 4: Thimphu – Shong Pang

Drive north of the valley to Denchencholing palace, following the Thimphu River. You will be dropped at Pangrizampa near Denchencholing town. From here the trek starts toward Shong Pang, which takes about 5/6 hours. The route passes through the village and through the forest of blue pine, oaks and rhododendrons. Overnight in camp.

Day 5: Shong Pang–Dopshing Pang

The trek trail ascends gradually uphill till you reach Sinchula. From this point, if the weather is clear, one can see the Phajoding Monastery. After 2 km, you can see the view of Thinleygang village, the Talo Monastery and the high way towards Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan. The trek drops gradually from the pass till you reach the campsite.

Day 6: Dopshing–Chorten Ningpo

Gradual climb through thick forests and before reaching the camp you will be passing through village and terraces of rice fields. Camp at an altitude of 2700m.

Day 7: Chorten Ningpo–Zomlingthang

For about 2/3 hours the trek trail will be through the villages till you reach the motor road. Overnight at camp.

Day 8: Zomlingthang–Limuka

The trek route will follow the road till you reach Punakha Dzong and then cross the Pho Chu. A steady half-day climb into forest of chir-pines and you will see wonderful view of Punakha valley and the Dzong. The campsite is near Limuka village at an altitude of 2250m.

Day 9: Limuka–Chungsakha–Wangduephodrang

The trek trail rises gradually up through the forest of oaks and rhododendrons and then descends gradually through thick forest till you reach a small monastery dedicated to Lam Drukpa Kuenley. Across Chungsakha you can see the Samteygang valley. Then walk downhill till you reach the motor road and drive for half an hour to reach Wangduephodrang. Overnight at hotel in Wangduephodrang.

Day 10: Wangduephodrang–Punakha–Paro

After breakfast, visit Wangduephodrang Dzong and drive to Punakha to visit the Punakha Dzong. After lunch drive to Paro. Overnight at hotel in Paro.

Day 11: Paro (Day Excursion to Taktsang)

After breakfast drive to Sasamchorten from where the hike starts. You can see the monastery in a distance. Then rest for about 1/2 hour at Taktsang cafeteria, right below the monastery. After lunch you will be back to Paro and take a walk in the town. Overnight at hotel in Paro.

Day 12: Paro Departure

After breakfast drive to Paro Airport for the flight to another destination. The guide will be there to see you off.
